London, the most magnetic city for business and creativity
Tokyo, Oct. 18 (EFE) .- London is the city that attracts business development and creative profiles, ahead of New York and Tokyo, respectively, according to the index the Global Power City (LGD), released today.
The Ranking, which is published annually since 2008 by the Institute of Urban Strategies Mori Foundation, puts the UK capital as the «most magnetic» city for imaginative and entrepreneurial talent to consider first that focuses «a unique history and tradition» in the world.
The GPIC ranks 42 cities on six continents from an analysis which uses socioeconomic indicators of six categories (economy, R+ D, cultural interaction, habitability, environment and accessibility) through the prism of five Profiles- manager, researcher, the artist, the visitor and resident.
In New York, second in the ranking, defines it as «global city always on the move, with its urban hustle and charged in a culturally diverse energy» while Tokyo this year beats Paris in third place, is “An efficient and advanced metropolis”.
A fourth, Paris, is related to the «stunning landscapes and places», besides being a «full of romance and culture» city.
The three next on the list are Asian (Singapore, Seoul and Hong Kong) while the eighth, ninth and tenth on the list are European (Amsterdam, Berlin and Vienna). Barcelona and Madrid occupy positions 20 and 26 respectively, while the first Chinese city -apart from the autonomous city of Hong Kong- listed is Shanghai, which is ranked 12th.
Mexico City and Sao Paulo (positions 37 and 38) are the only Latin American cities included in a classification that closed the only two African cities analyzed, Cairo and Johannesburg. EFE
