What is Sustainable Development?

It is associated with the growing concern in the international community in the last decades of the 20th century when considering the connection between economic and social development and its immediate effects on the natural environment.
It is not enough to generate services or produce products based only on an interest in economic profitability. Sustainability is not just a trend, or an obsession of environmentalists or a simple way in which companies can perform social and corporate actions. It is the only way to mitigate many of the damage caused to the environment and incorporate habits and decisions that consider the impact that occurs in the environment. It is based on three fundamental pillars that must be in balance: Economic, Social and Environmental.
HOW TO EXECUTE A SUSTAINABLE LOGISTIC DEVELOPMENT?
By implementing a Green Logistics; this require measuring and developing strategies to minimize the environmental impact within a logistics process or activity.
This involves managing reusable or recyclable materials, also within the distribution process, looking for methods for saving resources, fuel and maintenance, modifying the strategies and processes of the logistics chain.
The benefits are not only ecologically, but by better managing resources, you get savings and even profit from the possible reuse of materials and goods. In addition, implementing processes and technologies for green logistics creates a better image of social and environmental responsibility to customers, employees and environment.
The intention is to create and raise awareness around environmental sustainability, socio-cultural and economic dimensions; In the business field, the approaches to eco-efficiency and corporate social responsibility are deepened. Encouraging social transformation, based on the recognition of our culture for the care of the environment, considering that we live on a finite planet but have excessive consumption patterns. We have limited natural resources, susceptible to depletion. The negative impact on the planet can produce serious environmental problems that can be irreversible.
